Skeletor
Did this for AJ, will try to color it, which is my way of saying it probably won't happen. This guy was SO much cooler looking than the rest of the characters, of course you can't go wrong with a skull face with hood. The only thing I never understood was the guy had this cool armor, but went around barefoot?

It's that time again!
Well, it's getting about that time; This little fella' will be on the fliers for the Best Halloween Party Ever!! So start thinking about your costumes and if you live in Phoenix, come by, because it really is a great party. Hell, even if you don't live in Phoenix, drive, fly, whatever, you won't regret it!

Radicalkillerawesome, dude!
OK, I posted this on AJ and thought I'd get blasted, but it turns out lots o' folks seem to remember the early 80's and the horrible clothes we wore. Here I am in classic 1983 style; Half-shirt, 501 cut-offs, untied Nike high tops, growin' the hair out, and swinging some chuks a la Bruce Lee. I was listening to Scorps AC/DC Priest and Van Halen. I had some cordoroy OP shorts, as well. And they were probably just as short as the cut-offs! I'm reminded of just how short everytime I see classic NBA games with Magic, Dr. J, or Larry Bird.....What were we thinking back then?!

Whew!
Well, Comicon was awesome. I would have posted earlier but it seems like it took a few days just to recover. To any and all that came to the AJ booth to check out CAKE, I thank you. In a time when anthologies are popping up everywhere I thank you immensly for taking the time to look at our little book.
I would also like to thank Sean "Cheeks" Galloway, Robert Valley, Ashley Wood and Eric Canete. I'm a huge fan of these artists and they were all so nice and gracious upon meeting, they made the Con that much better for the experience. I'm sure I'm forgetting some others but the whole thing was a bit overwhelming and I feel I'm still proccessing all the visual stimuli that assaulted me over the five days.
Anyway, here's a Cap pic I worked on after buying a brush pen, it worked for a while but the hairs started splitting tonight while practicing, which frustrated me to no end so I had to quit before burning my house down in a fit of rage...yes, stuff like that really bothers me, I just bought the damn thing!!

New business card!
Looking back
Was working on some projects and got distracted( as usual) and started playing around with some older images, working with positive/negative space. Anyway, a couple came out kinda' cool (to me, anyways) so here's an earlier Cap and a Red Sonja (in a very Timm style) so yes, it's come to this, I am now recycling old work...my laziness knows no bounds....

Red Hot Robot show
Well, this Friday we're doing a Cake release party at Red Hot Robot. As with my usual bouts of procrastination, I waited till the last moment to mention it. If interested, please link to Art Jumble where you can find out all the info. There should be food, drink, and all around merriment as we pat ourselves on the back for actually finishing something. There will also be prints for sale. I just finished this little number here. My kids liked it so I figure you might, too.

Wonder Woman
I went for a Shane Glines look on this. I wanted it a bit cartoony. Eventually I hope to color it when I get a moment.
And on a side note, I think anyone seeing this blog ( again, all two of you) should head over to Harper Jatens' Awesome Blog. It's right there on the links. Just check out his Sea of Red drawings, and the colors! This guy should be doing a book like yesterday. You hear me , Jaten? Get to work!

Sketches
More from the sketchbook. Also, the Cake book came in so feel free to head over to Art Jumble and order 1 or 15 copies of the book. The guys did a great job and I'm very proud of everyone's contributions and professionalism. There's already talk of a Cake vol. II and I will update as much as possible. For those that have already purchased a book, you have my thanks and gratitude!

Sketchbooky stuff
Some more sketches from the book, I figure it's better than watching the hated Spurs go to another Western Conference Finals....I would really like express my intense dislike for them but would probably come across as a little insane, although I'm pretty sure Robert Horry's soul will burn in a lake of fire someday, that's the only explanation for such a cheap shot artist to be rewarded with so many Championships....and yes, I'm a bitter little man......:)

New stuff and a new look
Well, just like a proud owner of a mullet in the early 90's , I thought my blog looked fasionable and cool but was informed that was not the case and I was seriously out of touch with the current trends. So I started the change tonight, updated the look a bit, with more changes coming soon ( I still have to figure what I want for a title image)
The coming Iron Man movie's got me a bit stoked, hence the sketch, and of course ...a chick with a sword! The blog might look different but the content's pretty much the same, sorry about that.
