Wonder Woman

I went for a Shane Glines look on this. I wanted it a bit cartoony. Eventually I hope to color it when I get a moment.

And on a side note, I think anyone seeing this blog ( again, all two of you) should head over to Harper Jatens' Awesome Blog. It's right there on the links. Just check out his Sea of Red drawings, and the colors! This guy should be doing a book like yesterday. You hear me , Jaten? Get to work!

Hulk

A couple of old sketches I did way back. Not even sure if I've posted these before....if so, sorry about that, just found some copies in an old folder and figured since the movie just came out...

The New Guy

A new Cap sketch from the sketchbook. Not crazy about the new design, but the series has been top notch, Brubaker is just too damn good. His Criminal series is just great, with very interesting articles and essays in the back about crime noir movies and novels. The man knows his stuff.

Sketches

More from the sketchbook. Also, the Cake book came in so feel free to head over to Art Jumble and order 1 or 15 copies of the book. The guys did a great job and I'm very proud of everyone's contributions and professionalism. There's already talk of a Cake vol. II and I will update as much as possible. For those that have already purchased a book, you have my thanks and gratitude!

Sketchbooky stuff

Some more sketches from the book, I figure it's better than watching the hated Spurs go to another Western Conference Finals....I would really like express my intense dislike for them but would probably come across as a little insane, although I'm pretty sure Robert Horry's soul will burn in a lake of fire someday, that's the only explanation for such a cheap shot artist to be rewarded with so many Championships....and yes, I'm a bitter little man......:)

slackin' again...

just some more from the sketchbook, need to finish some actual projects...

Another mermaid

Here's another mermaid and a Hulk sketch

Late, as usual

Well, crazy deadlines prevented me from participating in last week's Art Jumble, but I did manage to squeeze a little time tonight to get this done.

more sketchbook stuff

New stuff and a new look

Well, just like a proud owner of a mullet in the early 90's , I thought my blog looked fasionable and cool but was informed that was not the case and I was seriously out of touch with the current trends. So I started the change tonight, updated the look a bit, with more changes coming soon ( I still have to figure what I want for a title image)

The coming Iron Man movie's got me a bit stoked, hence the sketch, and of course ...a chick with a sword! The blog might look different but the content's pretty much the same, sorry about that.

Old Spidey pic

Have'nt had much time for sketchin' , found this in a folder so I thought I'd throw it up here.

New pic, same Cap...

Yeah, it's the same Cap from Ultron...I'm lazy like that...

Cap vs Ultron!

Image I did for AJ. I changed the bg color to pop the robot out a bit...

Sketch night

Some more random sketchin'.

Jus' sketchin'

Some recent sketchin' I did trying to come up with some ideas for Art Jumble. The bonus was I got to listen to some friends harp on the art and comic industry for a bit. No matter who you are, some days you just see some guy making it, getting a slap on the back from the good fortune fairy and you can't help but ask, "Why him?"

We can't help it, it's just human nature. You can be happy for said individuals 364 days of the year, but there's that ONE day when you read or hear of someone's success be it a promotion, some awesome painting they did, book deal, or even movie deal, and you think," Holy F ! I hate that guy!".....and then you hit the art table for another night thinking, if you're lucky, somebody might be hating on you one day...:)

Eddie Lives again!

Iron Maiden is coming to Phx. Not only are they coming, they are re-doing the set from their Powerslave tour. I saw this show when I was 15 or 16 and it made me a fan for life. I was actually moved to goosebumps when they reached the epic hightlight of Rhyme of The Ancient Mariner...it was that bad-ass. In fact, it was so bad-ass I've been rather disappointed they never replayed it in any concert I've seen since....till now.....

And yes, you can see the fancy shmancy ad I've got over here for our book . It's called Cake and you should order one....really..... that's all the pimpin' I'm going to do for now.

Whew! busy weekend..

another sketch page I did this weekend....

Canary and WW, inspired by J. Bone...

...wow , that sounded weird! Well, J. Bone is an artist and he recently did a story in the back of Darwyn Cooke's New Frontier Special. All around goodness in this issue and a nice companion to one the best DC stories I've read in years. J. Bone was Cooke's inker in the original series and they had him pencil the WW story. After seeing said pencils I hope they get this guy to do more. Great fun cartooning and style. Anyway, I just had to draw something after reading his story, ended up with a quasi Bruce Timm/Cooke thing with nowhere the fun that they usually put in their stuff.....oh well....just keep drawing, I guess....

More of red and some sketches

Some more sketches I did for the Red Riding Hood thread. I was thinking the guns; etc, would be different and the first post on Art Jumble had a Red with guns.....yeah, I'm an unoriginal bastard, what can I say. The other is just some sketchin' I did over the weekend...

Red Riding roughs

Some ideas I had for an Art Jumble.....probably won't go much further than these....until I put out a "Chicks With Swords" book.....C'mon, the title pretty much sells itself!
